About our Classes
Private lessons and group classes are for beginners, novice, intermediate and advanced level skaters.
SK8 GYM is a proud program partner of the San Francisco Unified School District, along with the SF Beacon and ExCEL after school initiatives. We have conducted after school skate classes for Aptos Middle School, A.P. Giannini Middle and Alvarado Elementary. This Spring 2020, we are planning to implement our program with several more SFUSD schools including Thomas Edison Charter Academy and Martin Luther King Jr. Middle Schools.
Our specialized curriculum, SK8 GYM WAY! includes various training and educational: tools, games and coaching tactics used to create effective, guided teaching and safe learning environments, with stepping stone approach to progression in order to boost confidence and self-esteem, build concentration, gain balance, improve coordination and reflexes, minimize falls, develop strength and stamina, break down psychological barriers and ultimately accelerate skill progression.
Students will learn various maneuvers such as:
- proper pushing
- safely bailing
In addition to the basics, students can learn:
- ollies (jumps)
- flip tricks
- and so much more!
WHAT TO BRING TO LESSONS
— Skateboard: Rental skateboard is available for $15 per lesson/ class.
— Required Safety Gear: Helmet, knee pads, elbow pads and wrist-guards. Full set of rental pads are available for $15 per lesson/class (Includes knee pads, elbow pads and wrist guards. Individual sets are $5/ pair. Please visit our online shop for rental gear purchases.
